These minigames were part of a design experiment. (Click on the game frame first for it to accept your keyboard inputs.) The game numbers are just the order they were written in; they can be played in any order and don't have any linear gameplay relationship.

Instead of health or lives, these games use a rewind system. When you'd get a game over, the game freezes and goes into rewind mode. Use the left and right arrows to choose the moment to resume from, then press C to re-enter the game.

You can adjust the game speed and rewind limit in the pause menu (Escape). If you happen to make a big mistake that isn't a game over, you can force a rewind from the pause menu too.

Individual game controls are displayed at the bottom of the frame. In some games, pressing and holding a key is different from tapping it quickly. Each game can be "cleared" somehow, usually by surviving for a certain time, scrolling to the end of a route, or defeating a boss.
